Hello all. It’s been a couple of days since the last entry. I apologize. Taiko has been busy lately, (thank you guys!!) so it’s been hard to make time for the BLOG. But here’s the latest.
It’s MONSTA’s birthday today!!!! This day, 27 years ago the MONSTA was born. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONSTA(a.k.a. Josh Bagwin)
SPICY MAYONNAISE
Spicy mayonnaise is very simple to make but goes with just about everything. It’s one of my favorites. I like to use it on everything. There’s not that much you need to make a good spicy mayo, but you can always tweak it around and add things that you might find suitable. Here’s a recipe for an awesome spicy mayo.....
What you’ll need:
1. 2 cups mayonnaise of choice (I recommend KEWPIE mayonnaise*)
2. ½ cup Goya salsa picante
3. ½ lemon
4. 2 tblspn Shichimi* (Japanese 7 spice red pepper)
5. Dash soy sauce
6. Dash vinegar
*available at either location. See 6/25 BLOG entry for details. click here
Watch how easy this is. You put all the ingredients except for the lemon into a bowl. Take a whisk and mix together. Once mixed, squeeze the lemon juice into the bowl, mix again YOU’RE DONE!!!!
Whoa, that was easy!! This sauce, dressing, condiment is versatile. It goes on just about everything from hot dogs, hamburgers to salads and fish. If you don’t mind eating mayonnaise, this might not be for you. One thing I guarantee is that if you weren’t told it was mayonnaise, you’d love it!!! Ttttt tttt ttt ttthat’s all folks!
Remember, you can substitute any ingredients as you wish. I recommend Goya hot sauce because it has good flavor. Some people may like tabasco or red hot, doesn't matter what goes in. Have fun and play around with this. You may come up with something terrific!! If anyone makes a sauce and thinks it's good if not great, please send e-mail to: tat@taikorestaurant.com and if it's good, it'll be posted on the BLOG. Take care and see you next time!!
