Hello ladies and gents, How are things? The site is almost finished, and i must say that although fun to do, it can be a pain in the butt sometimes.  Over all I think the site is awsome, and I hope you will agree.  From time to time I am going to throw out some recipes and 'how to's' on the BLOG so I just wanted to let you guys know where to get all of your Asian food needs.  Here are a list of places where I shop and recommend to you.

The first place I would recommend is Shin Nippon Do (63 Mineola Avenue, Roslyn Heights, LI, NY 516-652-1814).  They have a lot of dry, canned, and frozen Japanese goods.  Sushi grade fish is sold there, along with marinated fish for baking.  They even have awsome candy and all sorts of instant ramen noodles(I recommend the U.F.O. yakisoba).  A great variety of Japanese products.  You can even rent Japanese videos there!!

If Shin Nippon Do is too far of a ride, there's  V&T SuperMarket Inc.,
(12 North Franklin St, Hempstead 516-481-9876).  I can't think of anything they don't have, but the one bad thing is that there's a pungent odor that can be unbearable to few, but I get used to it in a couple of minutes.  They have everything from fresh(live) fish, to common house hold items.  They also have an array of chinese herbal teas.  Fresh vegetables are available, great place to buy bok choy(a shanghai vegetable) which is great stir fried with oil, salt, pepper and garlic.  The Chinese pork buns in the front($.80!!) are to die for!!!

So there they are, the two places I recommend to shop.  Through out the BLOG, I will be going over many different modern and traditional Japanese dishes so if you go to one of these stores, you will have not problem finding whatever the recipe calls for.
