Hello all, and welcome to another BLOG entry. It’s been awhile since my last entry. A lot has happened since the last entry and I wanted to take this time to share with you some of the things that have been going on.
Recently, a close by competitor decided to switch locations and moved from Merrick Rd. to Park Ave. The proprietor of this establishment, we’ll call him ‘Tony’,tells people he’s Japanese(when he’s really Chinese) to further business and to gain the customer's trust. EXPOSED. How can you trust someone who lies about who or where he’s from? Not that it matters anyway, but ‘Tony’ thinks he’s slick, but he’s not getting by me.
Not too long ago, I remember somebody asking me if I was opening a new location around the corner from here. It didn’t register at the time, but now I see what’s going on here. Earlier today, a Taiko employee was walking down Park Ave. and stopped to talk to one of the construction workers working on ‘Tony’s’ new location. He asked ‘What’s coming here?’ and the construction worker said ‘Taiko 2'. EXPOSED. If Taiko were to expand, unless the building was rent-free, I guarantee it would be to a different town. Why would we open a restaurant in the same town? Right around the corner no less..... I heard that today and I lost it. There’s only so much we can take. This guy ‘Tony’, is a genuine cockroach.
cockroach ~ noun: a beetle-like scavenging insect with long antennae and legs, some kinds of which are household pests. -ORIGIN Spanish cucaracha.
Now I don’t wanna be mean, but there’s just so much history, bad history between us it makes me sick. Him telling people we’re affiliated is where I draw the line. Stealing our menu and decor is one thing. Trying and recruiting some of our ex-staff is another, but lying to clients is unacceptable.
This guy ‘Tony’ came into Taiko and started measuring the walls and floor. I was like ‘WHAT?!?!?!?!?!’ Is there nothing this guy can do to be original??? We start miles, they start miles. This guy has sent his people to work at Taiko to gain knowledge that we possess and to leave us high and dry and the next week they're working at his place. Two words, MIND BOGGLING!!!!!!!! ON THE RECORD, we are not affiliated with the restaurant on Park ave.
